Su Bviley – “Knockin”

VIDEOS

After finding success as a member of the group Tribe Gvng, rapper Su Bailey has returned a new solo joint that’s sure to find a place on your playlist. This time around Su Bailey is delivering his melodic visual for “Knockin.” The visual tells a tale of the cold streets and how they can be so unforgiving in NYC.

The audio has been circulating the blogs for the past three months and it carries an underlying island vibe albeit dark. This music video gives us indelible images of what its really like coming up in the cold New York streets and pictures Su in various places around the city.

In the Trife Drew directed video, Su Bailey also gives fans a deeper look into the lives of Tribe Gvng, as other members of the crew make cameos while they also prepare to drop solo tracks.

“We felt as though our solo projects will be a better representation of us,” Su Bailey said. “Aside from the many group projects we released in the past. We still make music with each other and are even featured on each other’s projects, but now our individual style and sound will be more demonstrated. Soon the fans and listeners will get a chance to hear how we standout on our own and I think they will hear the growth from the previous solo releases.”

Effdope produced the track for Su Bailey while they were working in studios in Atlanta which listeners can hear in the drum patterning.

“Effdope was in ATL at the time so I asked them to send me all the new beats they’ve been making while down there. While listening to it, I started singing the melody to the hook then recorded a voice memo. I played it back until I put words to it & did the same for the verse. I put words to it later and switched bar and flows around until it made sense. The beat switch-up was added later and THAT verse was taken from an unreleased song from off my project,” Su Bailey said.

Paloma Ford – “That Sh*t Ain’t Cool”

VIDEOS

Paloma Ford is shining with her new video for “That Sh*t Ain’t Cool.” The very personal video depicts Ford going through a very public and emotional breakup with Lakers guard Nick Young.

“‘That Sh*t Ain’t Cool’ is my favorite song on the project because I think every woman can relate at one or another in a relationship.” Ford said about the song and video.

She’s not lying either, as she gives fans a very real look at her music. She’s rollin with Master P and No Limit the sky is the limit for this R&B superstar. With a new project on the way, Ford is looking ahead and the music is backing it up.

Oklahoma’s DJ DB405 releases new EP #LapwingRd | @DJ_DB405 @DjSmokeMixtapes

MIXTAPES, MUSIC, VIDEOS

Dj DB405 aka Mr. #GodisTrill is an up and coming Dj from Oklahoma. As an Oklahoma native this is the place where he first fell in love with music. This is where it all began before being in the streets selling mixtapes, DJing nightclubs,
and grinding all around OKC at the young age of 16.

DJ DB405 is a Christian based Dj who is working with artists to create dope music with a positive message. Dj DB405 seeks to change lives through his music. Dj DB405 named this EP Lapwing Rd. after the street he grew up on in Edmond, OK.

Check out the promo video below.

Let’s get into “The Lapwing Rd. EP. Overall this is a crafty project. I am feeling the energy, the delivery, and production. Dj DB405 may be pushing “Christian” hip-hop which I know it may ruffle some peoples feathers, but lets keep it 1000 the music is better than a lot of the stuff you hear over and over on the radio. Thing is these artists need the exposure to get on that level. Who would of thought on Trap music for God? I love it! He delivers a positive message over trappy beats, and highly crafted engineering which is up to par with anything on the radio!

I’ll be first to admit that many “Christian” rappers have left a “corny” taste in my mouth. Its bascially the production, the over produced beats, and overly “churchy” sound. Its time we follow Dj DB405’s lead and support more Christian lyricists.
