Calico Blue born Antoine Freeman December 7, 1987 in Jacksonville, FL is an American hip hop/rap recording and performing artist. Calico brings a refreshing sound to today’s music scene. He has a revitalizing sound in an era of hip-hop where much of the music sounds alike. Calico Blue has a deep hypnotizing voice that can be closely compared to the likes of Kevin Gates, Gorilla Zoe or Trae Da Truth.
Before we get into the mixtape lets discuss “Glow” Calico’s first single produced by M. Geezy. Glow, the intro to “The Pursuit” mixtape is where Calico delivers a gritty, smooth and bold statement to the culture. This statement being that, “it isn’t just jewelry that makes him glow!”. Calico has his own shine.
Calico has released 3 videos prior to putting his mixtape “The Pursuit” out to the world. His lead single “GLOW” has a visual that compliments the music in such a way that you would think the director of the video, was somehow involved in making the music. It gives your eyes the right pictures for the right sounds. He also released a video for his lyrically hard hitting track “The Proof” as well as a visual shot in Miami, FL for his smooth, melodic rap track “Slide”.
