“Being that ‘Be the Wave’ was my first hit single amongst those in my area. People were very aware of my idea and vision with trademarking #BetheWave. It’s been in rotation now for over a year. One of my listeners heard Kid Cudi’s “Surfin” and tagged me in her post on FB. Before I had the chance to check out the song, there were a lot of comments I won’t repeat. I watched the video once. The two ideas are very alike in word choice and melody. However, it’s coming from two different worlds. Kid Cudi has exactly what I am building, a SOLID FAN BASE. Artists like Kid Cudi, Lupe Fiasco and Chance the Rapper have solid fan bases. So they don’t have to follow the cadence trends like most artist seeking approval from listeners. My goal is to gain the ability to evolve sonically. They say, ‘Great Minds think alike’ and I can accept that. I know they hear me.”
